Ethnography to Better Engage Patients/Caregivers & HCPs

Objective of the Study

Share detailed understanding of HCP’s perceptions regarding the therapeutic approaches for an ultra-rare disease with a focus on performance, and positioning of the client’s products within the therapeutic landscape.

Methodology

GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE:France, Germany, Italy, UK, Spain


METHODOLOGY:

Qualitative Immersive methodological approach with the use of  Pre-tasks, Ethnographic Interviews and In-Depth Interview

Patients/Caregivers: Patient Journey Mood-Board and Treatment routine 1-week Diary (pre-task) and Ethnographic In-Depth Interviews

Patient Association Group representatives and Healthcare Professionals: In-Depth Interview

TARGET DETAILS: 

Patients/Caregivers: 2 adult patients with NC and 2 caregivers of pediatric patients

PAGs: 2 representatives 

HCPs: 5 per country covering: Adult & Pediatric Nephrologists, Members of the transplant and the multi disciplinary team

LOI:

Patients/Caregivers: 120 min and 1-week pre-task, PAGs: 90 minutes and HCPs: 60 minutes

MAIN RESULTS

Provided understanding of each milestone encountered along Patient Journey with NC and grasped the emotional impact

Revealed and assessed the relationship dynamic existing among all stakeholders of NC

Deep dived into the transplant experience from both patients and HCPs’ perspective in order to provide a full picture of  challenges and impact of this milestone

Analyzed and presented patient journey roadmaps for all stakeholders involved complete with emotional impact of each milestone, therapeutic objectives, level of performance of the medical management and treatment protocols

KEY TAKE-AWAY

Achieved full immersion into living with NC by understanding the challenges, the expectations and the current coping strategies

Provided actionable recommendations on how to support and communicate with all stakeholders
